Top-tier GOP presidential contender Ben Carson took to social media to back the
growing numbers of governors opposed to allowing Syrian refugees into the United States — but flubbed a map of the Lower 48 in the process.
Using a headline "We're Saying No," the campaign of the retired pediatric neurosurgeon shared a map on
Twitter and
Facebook that transposed much of New England above New Hampshire.
The graphic, first posted by
Talking Points Memo, has since been deleted from the accounts.
"I am standing with the 31 Governors who are fighting to keep our nation safe," the post read. "We do not currently have the means to adequately vet the thousands of refugees that the Obama administration wants to bring into the United States."
The flub was duly noted by Wall Street Journal reporter Reid Epstein:

Carson has been hounded in recent weeks — some have charged unfairly — over his personal biography, and his
foreign policy chops.
The soft-spoken candidate remains firmly
on or near the top in recent polls.
