The American Defense Industrial Base (DIB) is languishing and despite the recognition of issues with the DIB years ago, growth and re-capitalization is proving hard.

A recent Issue of Foreign Affairs Magazine decried the situation in an article titled, “China Is Ready for War And Thanks to a Crumbling Defense Industrial Base, America Is Not.” The anemic DIB is a shadow of what it was in the Arsenal of Democracy 1.0 in World War II.
