Police Across 8 States Report Sharp Spike in Political Violence

Explosive devices sent to Hillary Clinton and former President Barack Obama, as well as suspected explosives sent to CNN’s New York studio at the Time Warner Center at Columbus Circle in Manhattan, appear to reflect a dangerous uptick in political violence as the November midterms draw near.

On Sunday, Wall Street Journal columnist and former Reagan speechwriter Peggy Noonan reacted to the trend, issuing a clarion call on “Meet the Press” Sunday urging the leaders of both parties to tamp down the growing U.S. climate of political intolerance and hate-filled rhetoric.
