During a Wednesday appearance on Newsmax, Conservative Political Action Conference Chair Matt Schlapp suggested he doesn't believe that reported calls for the ouster of President Joe Biden are being orchestrated from within the Democratic Party.

"I don't think it's an inside job. Usually, the Democrats are pretty good at the inside job; the decision's made by the major donors they have and the major activists — usually the unions — and the decision's made to move on. I don't think that decision has been made with Biden," Schlapp told "The Record With Greta Van Susteren."

Schlapp's comment comes a day after Washington Post columnist David Ignatius' column bore the headline "President Biden should not run again in 2024."
