Most support Girl Scouts being allowed to sell cookies outside any legal business, according to a YouGov poll, after a Californian Girl Scout sold cookies outside a legal marijuana dispensary.
Sixty-seven percent think Girl Scouts should be allowed to sell their cookies outside any legal establishment, compared to 17 percent who say they should not be allowed to sell outside controversial establishments.
In February, a Girl Scout set up shop outside a marijuana dispensary in San Diego, and sold 300 boxes in just over six hours, sparking a controversial debate on whether this was a violation of the Girl Scout rules.
The survey also asked which type of cookie is a favorite — Thin Mints won with 27 percent of the vote, with Caramel Delites and Samoas coming in second, tied at 19 percent.
The YouGov poll sampled 6,932 people in the U.S. on Feb. 9, 2018, with results weighted to be representative of the U.S. population.
