Forty-seven percent of American adults have gotten a flu shot this year, a decline after the pandemic, according to a new poll by Rasmussen Reports.

In October 2019, just before the start of the COVID-19 outbreak, a Rasmussen poll found that 55% had gotten a flu shot.

Poll results:

  • 51% of American adults say they have not been vaccinated against the flu this year.
  • 16% of those who haven't gotten vaccinated against the flu say they intend to.
  • 42% say they had the flu last winter, compared to 55% who say they did not.
  • 52% of men and 43% of women say they have gotten the flu shot this year.
  • 63% of Democrats, 40% of independents, and 37% of Republicans say they have gotten the flu shot this year.

The poll, conducted Nov. 28-29, surveyed 1,000 American adults. The margin of error is 4 percentage points.
