Kraft is giving away mac and cheese and other groceries in Washington, D.C., to federal workers sidelined by the partial government shutdown.

The grocery manufacturing and processing conglomerate Wednesday opened a pop-up store in the nation's capital called "Kraft Now. Pay Later," Business Insider reported.

Federal workers who show their government IDs can go home with a free bag of Kraft products — including mac and cheese, cheeses, and condiments.

"During the government shutdown, parents should not have to worry about putting dinner on the table because they aren't receiving a paycheck," Sergio Eleuterio, Kraft's head of marketing, said in a statement, BI reported. "Kraft stands for families and we want to support the families who have built our brands."

The pop-up will be open from Wednesday through Sunday. The company asks  workers who take groceries donate, if possible, to the charity of their choice once the "situation gets back to normal."
