Palin’s endorsement helped former Georgia Secretary of State Karen Handel surge to the top of the seven-way Republican primary on July 20. Palin also flew to Georgia to campaign personally for Handel in the Aug. 10 Republican runoff primary. Unfortunately for Handel, her magic only goes so far. Handel lost the runoff in a tight race to Nathan Deal.
