Former President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle are in the British Virgin Islands after being flown in on Richard Branson's private jet, the Daily Mail reported.
The couple arrived on Branson's French-made, Falcon 900EX jet Monday night, according to the newspaper. They touched down at Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport, the islands' main airport.
They were taken to a nearby boat, where they completed the journey to Branson's private retreat, Necker Island, according the Daily Mail. Details of their visit were not released.
British billionaire Branson had campaigned against Trump during the election. He is believed to have left the region before the Obamas arrived in order to celebrate the birth of his grandson.
However, he posted an Instagram photo on Saturday of him with Obama during the former president's time in office. The photo was captioned: "Thank you Obama."
Before arriving in the British Virgin Islands, the former first couple had been staying at the home of Spanish ambassador James Costos.
The Virgin Islands Daily News reported that as news spread the Obamas were arriving, people began showing up at the airport. Armed police had to block traffic to allow the Obamas' motorcade to eventually proceed.
