Sen. Graham: 'Failure's Not an Option' for GOP on Tax Cuts
(CNN's "State of the Union")

The "fate" of the Republican Party and the economy lies in the hands of the GOP next month, and "failure's not an option," Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., said Sunday.

"We'll get there, because failure's not an option when it comes to the Republican Party and cutting taxes," Sen. Graham told CNN's "State of the Union." "Every Republican Senator, the fate of the party is in our hands as well as that of the economy.

"The economy needs a tax cut and the Republican party needs to deliver. So, I think we'll get there."

The Senate GOP holds a mere 52-48 majority and President Donald Trump has a pair of detractors in Arizona GOP Sens. John McCain, who is battling brain cancer, and Jeff Flake, who has announced he will not seek reelection. Also, some other conservative Senators have expressed concern over the projected expansion of the deficit as the government takes in less income from taxpayers. And, Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., is concerned the Senate GOP tax reform bill does not do enough for small business.
