Donald Trump has hired the daughter of Maine Gov. Paul Le Page to help bolster his campaign efforts in the Pine Tree State.
Lauren LePage, a 27-year-old law student, has been tapped as coordinator in charge of getting Trump supporters to the polls, Maine Public Broadcasting reports.
She previously served as assistant to the chief of staff in her father's administration and played a key role in his re-election bid. In addition, LePage was director of a nonprofit group, Maine People Before Politics, which supported her father's policies.
The governor endorsed Trump earlier this year.
The Boston Globe reports Trump has attempted to turn Maine into a presidential campaign battleground, with the state being only one of two that award electoral votes by congressional district as well as by statewide vote.
