The ranking Democrat on the Senate Finance Committee bashed President Donald Trump's budget proposal, tweeting a picture of it in a recycling bin Tuesday afternoon.
Sen. Ron Wyden, D-Ore., launched into the plan in a series of tweets, comparing it to the work of Ponzi-schemer Bernie Madoff.
Wyden, also a member of the Senate Budget Committee, said in a statement that the budget would disproportionately harm low-income and disabled Americans who rely on federal support.
"Here's the bottom line: this budget is more than numbers on a ledger — it's an assault on the fundamental idea that Americans should be there for one another when it counts," he said, according to The Hill.
