Poll: Most Voters Don't Believe Trump's Fraud Claims

Just 25 percent of American voters believe President Donald Trump's claim there was widespread voter fraud in the November elections, a Morning Consult/Politico Poll revealed.

Here are the highlights from the survey:

• 25 percent subscribe to Trump's theory of voter fraud, while 44 percent say they don't.
• 35 percent believe Trump was most likely the candidate who benefited from voter fraud if it did occur, compared to 30 percent who say it would have helped Hillary Clinton.
• 83 percent say they were confident their votes were accurately counted, compared to 14 percent who were not.
• 43 percent say voting fraud is common during a typical presidential election, compared to 44 percent who say it is not.
• 49 percent say they approve of Trump's performance as president, compared to 41 percent who did not

According to Politico, Trump's approval rating is "ticking upward toward 50 percent." It noted this figure is more positive than other polls have found.

The poll was conducted Jan. 26- 28 among 1,991 voters with a margin of error of plus or minus 2 percent.
