Nationally syndicated columnist Armstrong Williams called Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders "the new race hustlers" in an interview with
Newsmax TV Friday.
Williams
made headlines this week for saying, "everything in America is not about race" at Al Sharpton's National Action Network Conference in New York City. During an appearance on Friday's "Newsmax Prime," J.D. Hayworth asked Williams about comments Clinton and Sanders made regarding race at their Thursday night debate.
"I heard it. Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders in that regard are the new race hustlers," said Williams, a political commentator, and Dr. Ben Carson’s business manager.
"They're no different than civil rights leaders who continue to blame all the woes for blacks on racism and the Republican Party and you've got to go back to that song with Janet Jackson, what have you done for me lately? What do you have to show for all these years of voting for people like Hillary and Bernie Sanders? Little or nothing."

He added that black Americans are "willing to give Donald Trump a shot" in the presidential race.
Williams was booed after his comments at Sharpton's event, but afterward he said there was a "resounding round of applause."
On Thursday, Williams told Newsmax TV "the thousands and thousands of people that sent emails and tweets and called, 92 percent were in agreement" with him on the matter.
