Reuters Prematurely Publishes Harsh Soros Obit

By    |   Thursday, 18 April 2013 07:21 PM EDT

Hedge fund billionaire George Soros didn't die today, but the wire service Thompson/Reuters published his obituary in error.

And it was a harsh one.

To add insult to injury, the article calls Soros a hypocrite while highlighting the crisis he supposedly caused by making currency bets, reports Business Insider.

Soros, 82, is painted as “an enigma, wrapped in intellect, contradiction, and money.”

He is also referred to as a “predatory financier” who “argued paradoxically for years against the same sort of free-wheeling capitalism that made him billions.”

The article has since been removed and minutes after it was published Reuters Tweeted that it was an error.
