Former Chicago Bears head coach Mike Ditka says he likes President Barack Obama personally, but not so much as leader of the free world.
"Obama is the worst president we’ve ever had," Ditka said during a Thursday radio interview on
WABC-AM in New York, 247 Sports reports.
Ditka met Obama in 2011 when Obama, who's adopted hometown is Chicago, honored the 1985 NFL Championship Bears team at the White House.
"Barack Obama’s a fine man. I mean, he's pleasant," Ditka told hosts Sid Rosenberg and Bernard McGuirk. "He would be great to play golf with. He’s not a leader. This country needs leadership. It needs direction. It needs somebody that steps up front. We need somebody like Ronald Reagan."
Ditka continued:
"Every once in a while you’re going to get punched in the chops. But you keep going forward. That’s all there is to it. You know it’s not always going to be a perfect situation, but to do what he does, there’s no leadership there. I think that becomes very disgusting to me."
So who does Ditka like in among the 2016 field?
"If I were to vote tomorrow, I’d probably vote for [Donald] Trump," he said.
