From the first days of Obama's presidency I predicted that the president would turn out to be a radical, with a deep-seated hatred of business owners — someone who has a desire to demonize us and destroy America’s faith in capitalism, and a plan to bring down the system by overwhelming our economy with debt and crisis — just as we all learned and discussed in our college days at Columbia University.
I am Obama's college classmate.
|President Obama returned to the campus of Columbia University in May to deliver the Commencement Address at Barnard College.
I experienced the views of my fellow Columbia radicals back in 1979-1983. Virtually everyone I knew at Columbia called themselves Marxists or socialists. They openly embraced the idea of "bringing down the system" (meaning capitalism). They openly hated the wealthy (even though most of my classmates came from wealthy families).
They openly hated President Reagan and often called him "the devil." They cheered, actually gave a STANDING OVATION, when they heard he'd been shot. This is where Obama comes from. This is why, hearing his background at Columbia, and as a "community activist," I predicted America had a Marxist in the White House.
Well it’s no longer a theory. Obama has come out of the closet in the past few days. Obama's latest comments prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that he despises and resents Americans who own businesses and have succeeded in a capitalist system. And he is trying to foment the kind of class warfare that could rip this nation apart. His goals are crystal clear — demonize business owners, redistribute income, cripple or destroy capitalism, bring down the system.
Obama actually said words that made me sick to my stomach and brought tears to my eyes. Words so vile they are an affront to every American business owner and a reminder of his true beliefs — a deep-seated hatred and resentment towards capitalist business owners. Obama said that business owners owe our success to government. He actually said that if you’ve built a business, you don’t get the credit. It’s government that has been by your side.
You need to give government the credit.
Obama believes government helped me every step of the way as a businessman? Really? Honest to God? With that kind of thinking, I think it's now safe to say Obama has come out of the closet. There's no longer any need for debate about his belief in Marxism. The only question is whether he actually believes the absurd propaganda he spews.
Because the reality is that government has hurt me, every step of the way. Government has NEVER helped me. But Obama is right about one thing — government is always by our side. Unfortunately it ruins everything it touches.
Here's a synopsis of what government has done for me.
They've stolen my hard-earned money that I could have used to expand my business, or start new ones, or invest in stocks and real estate. Instead it went to government in the form of taxes, fees, licenses and workers comp.
Don't forget the rules, regulations, and mandates that made it difficult or near impossible to start a business in the first place.
Or the accountant and tax lawyer bills that could have been put to use creating jobs.
Or the IRS audits that stole valuable dollars and hours that I can never get back — even though every one of them ended up with me owing not a dime. But the damage was already done to an innocent man.
Or the millions my public company spent on complying with ridiculous bureaucratic boondoggles like Sarbanes Oxley — thereby wasting millions of dollars that could have instead created jobs and shareholder value for my investors.
Don't forget the bills passed by government that literally wiped out multiple businesses that I owned (multiple times).
Yes, Obama has a point. Government is always there by my side — stealing my money, robbing me blind, redistributing what I earned into the hands of people not willing to work as hard or as smart as me, distracting me with thousands of pages of regulations, limiting my options, wiping out jobs, and destroying shareholder value.
Government isn't there by my side helping me while I work 16 hour days, weekends, early mornings, late nights, holidays, birthdays, and anniversaries. Government isn't there when I make important decisions that affect the future of my business. Government isn't there when I risk my hard earned money and if I'm wrong — I lose everything.
Government isn't there when I make pitches to potential clients that will determine whether my business grows, stagnates, or fails. Government isn't there when I start each week at zero (as all entrepreneurs do every week). And thank goodness that government isn't there when I raise my family.
The truth is my success is due to the fact that government isn't there. If I ran my business, family, or life like government, I'd be broke, insolvent, divorced, lonely, or dead. Thank goodness I rely on my own brainpower, work ethic, tenacity, initiative, and courage (to risk my own money). Thank goodness I rely on "if it is to be, it's up to me." No Mr. Obama, you've failed. I don't accept your propaganda. I know government has never helped me. I know government has never saved me. I know government has only gotten in my way. I know I am better off with less government. So does virtually every businessman and women in America. We've seen it and experienced it.
What's your retort Mr. Obama? Will you say, "Are you going to believe me, or your own eyes?"
Government isn’t a savior or saint. Government is the mafia. They are organized crime with the weight of the law behind them. And under Obama, they are hell bent on turning public sentiment against all of us who own businesses, destroying America’s belief in capitalism, and redistributing our incomes until our businesses are crippled, or out of business. Then government is our only place to turn. That much is now clear after a 48-hour rampage by our president.
Let's avoid class warfare and a divided nation. Let's pull back from the brink of a civil war between the taxpayers and the tax-takers. For the good of America and our children, we must offshore the CEO of the U.S. economy.
If we are to save this economy, capitalism, our jobs, and this country . . . Obama must go.
