If Republicans want to criticize President Barack Obama for a lack of substance, they can add this: He has given an interview to Glamour magazine.

Glamour Editor in Chief Cindi Leive traveled to Portland last month for her meeting with the president. The story will come out in its November issue, Women’s Wear Daily reports.

Obama also gave Glamour an interview in 2008. The White House is very concerned about winning the votes of women and young people, which may explain the decision.

The campaign also is going beyond traditional political magazines to generate positive publicity. Interviews have been granted to ESPN the Magazine, People magazine, and Entertainment Tonight. Traditional media aren’t too happy about it.
