WASHINGTON, DC – A new survey of 1,000 Americans nationwide conducted by the polling company™, inc for American Solutions for Winning the Future reveals that 81% of the American people support the U.S. using more of its own domestic energy resources, including the oil and coal already here, to combat the rising cost of energy and reduce dependence on foreign energy sources.

According to the survey, 85% of Republicans, 76% of Democrats, and 83% of independents support using more domestic energy resources, making the tri-partisan agreement overwhelming.

The survey also shows that 69% of Americans support lowering energy prices by using domestic energy sources, even if it means drilling off our coasts and in Alaska, rather than suing OPEC.

“This new research is overwhelming evidence that the American people believe we need to work here at home to solve America’s energy challenges,” said Dave Ryan, American Solutions Executive Director.

“Hard-working American families are struggling to pay the soaring prices for gas, diesel, food, electricity, and everything else affected by the high price of oil. To reduce the pain Americans are feeling at the pump we need real energy solutions from Congress, starting with taking immediate action to drill here and drill now.”

American Solutions recently launched a “Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less” petition drive to urge Congress to drill for oil domestically to ease gas prices. More than 340,000 Americans have signed the petition at www.AmericanSolutions.com/DrillNow.
