Jane Pitt, the mother of actor Brad Pitt, has been the target of hateful liberal bashing since she wrote a letter to the Springfield News-Leader calling President Barack Obama "a liberal who supports the killing of unborn babies and same-sex marriage."
In the letter, she supported Mitt Romney in the 2012 presidential race.
Gawker called her a "loon" and liberals on Twitter took her on, suggesting she kill herself for disavowing gay marriage.
The Hollywood Reporter had a headline that read “Brad Pitt’s mother pens anti-gay, anti-Obama letter to local newspaper.”
Her son has been highly supportive of gay rights, going so far as to suggest he won't marry his longtime partner, Angelina Jolie, until "everyone" in the country has the same right to marriage.
In 2008, he donated $100,000 to help fight passage of Proposition 8, a constitutional amendment in California that recognized marriage as being between one man and one woman. In March, he portrayed homosexual Judge Vaughn Walker in “8,” a play that re-enacted the trial where Walker overturned the amendment.
