MSNBC has dropped its "Lean Forward" slogan from graphics shown during its primetime programming.
The move is believed to be part of the cable network's effort to move away from its left-leaning opinion programming to focus more on news.
The new look for graphics debuted on Monday night,
Mediaite reports. It includes a move from "msnbc" in lowercase letters to the all-caps "MSNBC."
The network has been losing viewership to CNN and is attempting to change its image by
canceling liberal talkers and adding more breaking news coverage. Former "Nightly News" anchor Brian Williams is moving to the network to head up that effort.
"Lean Forward" isn't completely gone, according to Mediaite, which reported that promos including the phrase still are airing.
