Boston will be the meeting ground Oct. 6 for at least a half dozen powerful liberal groups planning to boost President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign and Democratic Party efforts to regain dominant control of Congress.

The Center for Public Integrity reported Tuesday that officials from at least six groups, including two with direct ties to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, will attend a breakfast meeting next week with veteran fundraisers and donors.

The meeting is just one of several planned by the groups in major cities across the country, including New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles.

“We’re making sure that Democratic donors and activists have a clear sense of what we’re doing,” former White House aide Bill Burton, who also is a co-founder of Priorities USA and Priorities USA Action, told the center’s iWatch News website.

In addition to Priorities USA and Priorities USA Action, the groups include EMILY’s List, American Bridge 21st Century, America Votes, House Majority PAC, and Senate Majority PAC.

The latter two were started this year by aides and close associates of Reid and Pelosi.
