Obama Timid in the Middle East

I like playing poker. And I'm not bad at it, either.

But I always try to bring a "governor," someone who will help control my speed and tell me when it's time to go big or go home. The perfect governor is smart, steady, rational and, most importantly, experienced. He's seen the kind of Vegas hot streaks that would give ordinary men palpitations, and he's watched thousands of dollars suddenly dissolve into a sympathetic smile from the dealer and a coupon for a complimentary breakfast. He's got a gut sense for the game — cautious when it's called for, aggressive at just the right moments.

Barack Obama likes playing poker, too, but I am not sure if he'd make a good "governor." And if poker personalities at all correspond to political styles, I'm getting more and more queasy about the bets he's placed in his first two years in the White House.
