Here's some trivia for you. Think back to November 2008. How many names appeared on the presidential ballot?

If you said six, you're right (and possibly some kind of savant). Barack Obama and John McCain were joined by Ralph Nader, Bob Barr, Chuck Baldwin and Cynthia McKinney.

But I have some startling news: None of these folks got elected. That's right, only the 242,539 people who voted "Other" in the 2008 presidential election — less than a quarter of 1 percent of Americans — actually got their wish.

"But I voted for Obama!" you say? Well, bully for you.
