Let me ask you a question.
Are you safer America today than you were four years ago? The answer is no.

Let me tell you a story.
In 1976 when my father was running for the presidency and lost, I asked him why he wanted to become president.
He told me he had watched American presidents sit down with Soviet leaders for too many years and every time the American president sat down with a Soviet leader they asked us to give up something to get along with them.
“I wanted to be the first president Michael to sit down with a Soviet leader and while he was telling me what it was I was going to have to give up to get along with him, I would get up from the table, walk around the other side of it, lean over, and whisper in his ear: ‘nyet.’”
We didn’t know in ‘76 that my father was going to run again in 1980 but he did. And in 1986 as president of the United States in Reykjavík — called there by Mikhail Gorbachev — Ronald Reagan went there to sign an agreement.
Mikhail Gorbachev went there to sign an agreement. But before he said he would sign he told Ronald Reagan something. He said “you have to give up something.”
You have to give up SDI. You have to give up Star Wars.
Ronald Reagan had his chance and he followed through with what he told me in 1976.
He looked at Mikhail Gorbachev and he said “nyet.” And turned and walked away. We’ve all seen that photograph of my father turning away from Mikhail Gorbachev.
A few years later the Berlin Wall would come down. Millions of people would be free because of that “nyet” heard round the world by a strong president in 1986.
What about this president Obama? What has he done?
The first few days in office he took away missile defense from Poland, Czech Republic and that area of the world so they can’t defend themselves against the former Soviet Union and Russia.
He sent back the bust of Winston Churchill to England because he was upset so much with Winston Churchill and his past I guess.
What else has he done? Well when he’s had a chance to stand strong for America he decided to be on “The View.” He decided to do fundraisers in Las Vegas but he hasn’t decided to defend America.
Look what’s going on now in the world. Look what’s going on in the Middle East — embassies under siege.
Look at the information we found out in the last week — how much information this president had before he took off to go to a fundraiser in Las Vegas, Nev. — all this information and still he did not defend freedom.
He did not defend our ambassador or others there in Benghazi.
And now what did we learn in the last week? Well I’ve known for a long time that Putin is the puppet master of what’s going on in the Middle East.
And what about Prime Minister al-Maliki of Iraq? Where does he side in what’s going on? We pulled out of Iraq. There’s not an American to go to. So we have to make goody with the mullahs. And what happens there?
Well he allows Iran to use his air space to take weapons to Syria. And when Joe Biden asked him to stop, Prime Minister al-Maliki said “no.” He was not going to stop.
And just since last week we learned — maybe you didn’t but I did — that Iraq — where so much American blood and treasure has been spent — Iraq is purchasing $5.5 billion worth of military weapons, including war planes not from the United States of America, but from Russia.
The question is why? Why would they choose Russia over the United States. That is a question that needs to be answered. The Middle East is on fire. The president is the campaigner-in-chief.
The question is, are you safer today than you were four years ago? The answer is no.
Wake up America. It is time to get mad.
