The former executive director of the Republican Party of Florida won't be going to prison if he stays out of trouble.

Delmar Johnson III helped prosecutors in their case against former state GOP chairman Jim Greer. He must repay $65,000 that he's alleged to have stolen from the party. The deal was made public Tuesday.

It also requires Johnson to continue cooperating with State Prosecutor William Shepherd, who charged Greer earlier this month with one count of organized fraud, four counts of felony grand theft and one count of money laundering.

Johnson agreed to the deal May 18, two weeks before Greer was arrested at his home near Orlando.

Greer is free on bond. Greer's attorney says he is innocent of the charges.
