President Donald Trump needs to learn the identity of the man or woman leaking embarrassing information about infighting between White House staffers and fire them immediately, veteran political commentator Michael Reagan says.

In recent weeks, detailed stories about an ongoing rift between Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner and White House chief strategist Steve Bannon have been trumpeted in the media.

Such fights are nothing new at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, but the fact they are being made public is, Reagan, the son of Ronald Reagan, said Tuesday to Bill Tucker, guest host of Newsmax TV's "The Steve Malzberg Show."

"Somebody in the White House is leaking this information out to the media. This stuff just doesn't happen in a vacuum," Reagan said.

"They have to find whoever's leaking it out and fire that person, if you will. Is there infighting? You bet there's infighting, there's always, always, always infighting in the Oval Office, in the White House, in the executive branch.

"The difference here is it's getting out to the media. They need to shut that spigot off."

Reagan is the author of "Lessons My Father Taught Me: The Strength, Integrity, and Faith of Ronald Reagan," written with Jim Denney and published by Humanix.
