Former New York Gov. George Pataki tells Newsmax TV that any attempts by the present governor to legalize late-term abortions should be soundly rejected.

“I don’t think it should be controversial. It should just be rejected,’’ Pataki told Newsmax of Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s proposal to legalize such abortions when a women’s health is at risk. “This is partial birth abortion . . . It is the wrong thing to do and I hope that the legislature in its wisdom takes a hard look at this and decides that New York should not.’’

Cuomo included the abortion rights measure in a women’s rights package that includes proposals to assure equal pay, workplace rights, and bills combatting abuse against women.

The National Review has dubbed the measure Cuomo’s “radical abortion regime.’’

Cuomo has tied all the measures together requiring the New York Legislature to approve all or none of the proposals..
