Former U.N. Ambassador John Bolton says he’s concerned about the possibility of terrorists trying “to get their message across” at the Olympics and worries they could be British citizens who might be hard to detect.

Appearing Thursday night on Fox News’ “On the Record with Greta Van Susteren,” Bolton said the arrests Thursday in London of six British Muslims in connection with a suspected terrorist plot, highlighted “a growing concern that British authorities rightly have.”

Authorities said the arrests were not connected to the upcoming summer Olympic games in London beginning July 27.

But recalling the 2005 attacks on the London transportation system seven years ago, Bolton noted that those involved then “were second and third generation immigrants.”

“What’s frightening about that is that here you have immigrants to the country who have seen all the benefits of a free and open society, all the opportunities that it provides, and have nonetheless turned away from that freedom toward a radicalized, politicized version of Islam, and committed themselves to terror,” Bolton said Thursday night.

“These are people who’ve had all the advantages of a free society and rejected it, and that’s very hard to detect,” he added.
