The per-person debt of the United States now stands 35 percent higher than that of Greece, tallying $53,400 for every single American.
Figures from the International Monetary Fund show that the debt pricetag will be $16.8 trillion by the end of 2012. In Greece, it’s $441 billion,
the Weekly Standard reports.
When broken down per person in each country, the debt is $53,400 in America and $39,400 in Greece, a disparity which has expanded 40 percent since 2011, making America’s per-person debt is now 35 percent higher than that of Greece.

An analysis done by CNSNews.com shows that if Americans under 18 were required as a group to pay off the debt in equal shares, it would cost each about $218,676.
Since President Barack Obama took office, the debt has jumped approximately 53 percent — from approximately $143,255 per American under 18 to approximately $218,676 per American under 18, the CNSNews.com analysis found.
