Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer, who has repeatedly asked President Barack Obama to tour her state’s border with Mexico, sounded like she had finally gotten her wish.

“In stunning news this morning, I learned that President Obama has finally agreed to tour Arizona's Southern border!” she posted on her Facebook page Monday.

Not so fast. It was all an April Fools’ joke.

The Republican Brewer was poking fun at the fact that the president has ignored her invitations to see for himself why she thinks more should be done to secure the border. Earlier this year, she called the border a "gateway for the drug cartels," The Huffington Post reported.

“Click LIKE if you agree,” Brewer’s Facebook post continued, “the President should visit Arizona's border and to see for himself the dangers our citizens are facing each and every day with an unsecured border.”

The post had more than 1,000 “likes” by Monday evening. Among the most “liked” comments: “He won't go because he is afraid Sheriff Joe (Arpaio) would arrest him for being an illegal alien himself.”
