Planned Parenthood, which recently endorsed Hillary Clinton as "the strongest nominee we've ever seen on women's health and rights," will begin registering voters at hundreds of its clinics in 45 states.
The non-partisan campaign, called "My Vote, My Voice," will sign voters "regardless of their background, beliefs, or political ideology" in a bid to "ensure that every voice is heard," the abortion-providing agency told The Huffington Post.
Planned Parenthood spokeswoman Anna Keene said: "If we can't all participate in our government, we all get cheated … No matter what your political beliefs are, if you don't or can't vote, then you can't elect officials who will keep your best interests in mind."
While the registration effort is non-partisan, it's likely to add more liberal-leaning voters to the election dockets since many patients are "young, low-income, and people of color ― the demographics that are disproportionately affected by voter suppression laws," The Post said.
