Paul: Veto Bills that Violate 10th Amendment

By    |   Thursday, 22 September 2011 09:51 PM EDT

Texas Rep. Ron Paul drew the loudest applause in the early stages of Thursday’s debate when he answered a question on how to restore federal government to its constitutionally limited role under the 10th Amendment.

“Obviously it would take more than one individual, but the responsibility of the president would be to veto every single bill that violates the 10th amendment,” Rep. Paul replied. “That would be the solution.”

When Fox panelist Chris Wallace asked him to elaborate, Paul added: “There’s no authority in the Constitution to do so much [of] what we’re doing. There’s no authority for them to run our schools, no authority for them to control our economy, and no authority to control us as individuals or what we do with our personal lives.”

With that, the loudest applause of the night resounded in the debate hall.
