Just in time for Christmas, the Republican National Committee has told vendors that it may fall behind on some of its bills because of a “cash-flow challenge,” according to a memo obtained by The

Washington Post. The newspaper’s col
umn The Fix reports that RNC Chief Administrative Officer Boyd Rutherford sent an e-mail to vendors laying out the problem.
According to The Fix, Rutherford wrote, "We will not be able to pay off the vendors this week. We will be slow in paying as we are having a cash-flow challenge. Everyone will be slow paid until after the first of the year."
RNC political team member Derek Flowers, a recipient of the e-mail, proceeded to send another note to vendors. That e-mail noted that, while Flowers had planned to stay on with the RNC until all bills were paid, he was leaving now, The Fix reported.
The RNC's most recent filing with the Federal Election Commission, in mid-October, reported $4.5 million in debt and $3.8 million on hand.
