Likely Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney announced his endorsement of Republican Delaware Senate nominee Christine O’Donnell today in a release from his political action committee
Free and Strong America. The ex-Massachusetts governor may be seeking to protect his right flank as he contemplates another run for the presidency.

"Now is the time for Republicans to rally behind their nominee, Christine O'Donnell,” he said in the statement. “She ran an impressive campaign. I believe it is important we support her so we can win back the U.S. Senate this fall."
The PAC is making a $5,000 donation to O’Donnell – the largest allowed by law.
