U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann was recovering in Minnesota Sunday after suddenly falling ill and canceling a Missouri campaign appearance for a U.S. Senate candidate after being hospitalized.

Bachmann's campaign manager, Gina Countryman, would not give details of the hospitalization, but said the 6th District congresswoman was home "resting" in Minnesota Sunday.

"This isn't serious," Countryman said. "She's gonna be fine. She just needed to rest."

Bachmann spokesman Dave Dziok told the Minneapolis Star Tribune that she was hospitalized most of Friday and that doctors advised her to rest. He declined to reveal the nature of her illness.

The illness kept her from going Saturday morning to St. Louis, where she is backing Roy Blunt, a U.S. House member running in the GOP primary for the U.S. Senate.
