The GOP presidential race is far from over, and it’s still plausible a new candidate could emerge to shake it up further, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee said during a fundraiser in Toledo on Saturday.
See video below.
There's plenty of time for somebody to step forward and transform the race.
"We've seen so many of the candidates on the Republican side have been 'up like a rocket and down like a rock' moment. For all we know, it could still happen," said Huckabee.
Huckabee says he won't endorse any of the candidates just yet.
He will support the Republican party nominee, a nominee he thinks has a good chance to beat President Obama.
"It would be easy for me to speculate. But I don't want to tilt toward one or the other because at this stage, any of the candidates would be credible. A lot has to do with the economy and job market over the next several months," said Huckabee.
Huckabee also praised Toledo resident Samuel Wurzelbacher, better known as "Joe the Plumber."
The Republican is running for the 9th District Congressional seat.
"Congress was originally intended to be represented by all kinds of people and it still should be," said Huckabee.
