Republicans are likely to earn huge victories in next Tuesday’s congressional elections. But you won’t see them crowing about it, given the current economic suffering of many Americans, The Hill reports.

gop, victory, parties, john, boehnerHouse GOP Leader John Boehner, Republican Governors Association Chairman Haley Barbour of Mississippi and other party leaders will appear next Tuesday night at an event at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Washington, D.C. But partying isn’t on the agenda.

An invitation to the event said it will be focused on "making calls, knocking on doors, selling the fight.”

National Republican Congressional Committee Communications Director Ken Spain told CNN, “This event is not a fundraiser, and it is not a ‘party’ — even if voters remove Democrats from power, you don't celebrate at a time when one in 10 Americans are out of work and our children's future is threatened by mountains of debt."
