WASHINGTON - House Democratic leaders did not reach a deal on tax cuts with U.S. President Barack Obama during a White House meeting on Monday, House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer said Tuesday.
Obama on Monday announced the outline of a deal with congressional Republicans on legislation to extend for two years all Bush-era tax cuts. Many House Democrats do not want those lower tax rates extended for the wealthiest. (Reporting by Kim Dixon and Donna Smith; Editing by Paul Simao)
