Bill Clinton Called in to Save Democrats

Monday, 11 October 2010 12:49 PM EDT

With President Obama’s approval rating stuck below 50 percent, many Democrats would rather have former president Bill Clinton campaign for them. And that’s exactly what he’s doing, Roll Call reports.

The campaign of Colorado Senate candidate Michael Bennet has announced that Clinton will join him in a late-night Denver rally Oct. 18. That appearance comes despite the fact that Clinton endorsed Bennet’s challenger, Andrew Romanoff, in the August primary.

Clinton’s itinerary also includes appearances Oct. 19-20 for Florida Senate candidate Kendrick Meek, who badly trails Republican Marco Rubio in the polls.

Today, the ex-president is stumping for West Virginia Senate candidate Joe Manchin and Kentucky Senate candidate Jack Conway. Tomorrow Clinton will go to a rally for Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid in Las Vegas.
