Palin Offers Condolences on Giffords Shooting

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin offered condolences Saturday after Democratic Rep. Gabrielle Giffords was shot at an event in Tucson, Ariz., reports the Huffington Post.

sarah, palin, giffordsWriting on her Facebook page, Palin said: "My sincere condolences are offered to the family of rep. Gabrielle Giffords and the other victims of today's tragic shooting in Arizona. On behalf of Todd and my family, we all pray for the victims and their families, and for peace and justice."

According to the Huffington Post, Giffords was one of 20 U.S. representatives Palin targeted for defeat in the 2010 midterm elections. A U.S. map listed the 20 Democrats, who voted for Obamacare, and included crosshairs over their districts.

Giffords and others were shot Saturday while she was meeting with constituents outside a grocery store.
