When Democrats lost public support during the George W. Bush era, they tried to blame his strategist/aide Karl Rove for their downfall. Now they’re setting up Rove as a target again, Politico reports.
That may be good news for Republicans, as it signals Democrats’ desperation to find a campaign theme that sticks.
“Karl Rove is back – like an even worse sequel to a movie panned by the critics,” Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., wrote Wednesday in a fundraising request for Democratic Senate candidates being targeted by ads from American Crossroads, an independent group formed by Rove and another ace Bush strategist, Ed Gillespie, last year.
