LAS VEGAS — Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann noted during the opening moments of the GOP debate here tonight that she hopes this is one instance in which whatever happens in Vegas doesn't stay here because the nation needs to address its problems.

Bachmann said she wants to encourage an "economic miracle" that came about under President Ronald Reagan during the 1980s.

As candidates heatedly debated Herman Cain's 9-9-9 tax plan, Bachmann said that, when it comes to the tax code, "everyone should pay something . . . even if it's a dollar."

Bachmann reiterated her calls to repeal Obamacare and tighter regulations on the financial industry.

Some of the candidates were particularly confrontational early in the debate, shouting at and above each other to be heard.
