The film focuses on GOP Sen. John McCain’s failed campaign for the presidency in 2008. Palin was his vice presidential candidate. In the picture, Moore certainly looks the part, with her hair in a bun, a smile on her face, and glasses just like Palin’s. She’s wearing a red blazer with a pin on the lapel and a black skirt.
Production on the film begins Wednesday. Ed Harris plays John McCain; Woody Harrelson plays Steve Schmidt, McCain's senior adviser’ and Melissa Farman plays Bristol Palin. Jay Roach is the director, Danny Strong the writer, with Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman as executive producers.
Newsmax columnist James Hirsen says, “Sarah Palin will once again serve as the punching bag of the left” in the movie.
Palin herself said during an interview on Fox News: “I think I'll just grit my teeth and bear whatever comes with that movie.”
Actress Tina Fey, who satirized Palin on “Saturday Night Live” during the 2008 campaign, told Access Hollywood that Moore is “a great choice. She’s a great actress. If she needs my wig, I have it. It’s at ‘SNL.’”
