President Barack Obama apparently seems to be realizing the depth of the hole Democrats have dug for themselves. He wrote in an e-mail that the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee sent out that 15 Senate seats are in play, The Hill reports.

Obama, Senate, Republicans, Democrats"I'm counting on the DSCC to win the 15 Senate seats still up for grabs over these last 15 days," Obama wrote. He urges Democrats to donate more than $900,000 before Thursday to finance a get-out-the-vote "blitz" during the weekend. Obama didn’t say which 15 races he has in mind. But he says they will be "going right down to the wire."

Republicans can regain control of the Senate if they add 10 Senate seats next month. The nonpartisan Cook Political Report sees 11 races as tossups. Nine of those represent seats Democrats hold now. In addition, Cook says Republicans are likely to snare Democratic seats in Indiana, Arkansas, and North Dakota.
