American citizens are questioning President Barack Obama’s effectiveness more and more. And even the president himself is coming to recognize his loss of support, Politico reports
“I don't think there's a sense that I've been successful,” Obama tells Colorado’s 9NEWS. “I think people still feel that over all, Washington is about a lot of politics and special interests and big money, but that ordinary people's voices too often aren't represented, and so my hope is that we're going to continue rebuilding a trust in government."
Americans "feel that Washington still is dysfunctional," he acknowledges. Washington is a “very closed place” where there is “a lot of obsession about who's up and who's down politically at any given moment.” The focus needs to change to the concerns of everyday people, Obama says.
