Lobbyist Kathryn Lehman’s Star Rises With GOP

The GOP’s massive victory in this month’s congressional elections signals success ahead for Republican lobbyists. And probably no one is in better position to ride the wave than Kathryn Lehman, a lawyer, policy wonk and lobbyist with Holland & Knight law firm, The Hill reports.

Lehman’s strengths include a history of fighting valiantly for conservative causes, experience in a number of a GOP leadership offices and a contact list to die for. “She’s the whole package,” says Susan Hirschmann, a lobbyist with Williams & Jensen who worked with Lehman in the office of former Majority Whip Tom DeLay. “She knows the policy, and she knows how to get things done.”

With the GOP now in ascendancy, the trick for lobbyists is “to re-craft the messages to appeal to Republicans,” Lehman says.
