The media shouldn’t use the killing of Libyan dictator Moammar Gadhafi to turn President Barack Obama into a hero, Rush Limbaugh said on his radio show Thursday. On announcing reports of Gadhafi’s death, some news announcers suggested Obama deserved some credit.
Limbaugh said he predicted the news media’s reaction and played a clip from his show in March — where he said that would be the response — to prove it.
The media “can’t wait to give Obama credit for it,” he said. “We’ve got ecstasy.”
“You just heard the drive-bys say it,” said Limbaugh, who refers to reporters as “the drive-by media.”
“It’s an outbreak of democracy,” he said, referring to the Libyans' fight for freedom. "Who needs evidence?”
He accused the news media of “acting like campaign managers and consultants” for Obama’s re-election campaign.
