Boehner: Strengthen US-Pakistan Ties

House Speaker John Boehner says killing Osama bin Laden — and rumblings criticizing the attack — are not good reasons for the John Boehner, Pakistan, Osama Bin LadenUnited States to change its relationship with Pakistan or leave Afghanistan, Politico says.

“We have hundreds of billions of dollars that we’ve spent in Afghanistan and in Pakistan,” Boehner said Sunday on CBS’ “Face the Nation.”

"We’ve lost thousands of lives —this is not the time to just walk away from the fight,” he said. “We’ve got an awful lot invested here in lives and in treasury — and I think that we need to make sure that we put Afghanistan on a solid foundation before we walk away from there.”
