James O’Keefe, who gained wide plaudits from conservatives for helping to expose the liberal group ACORN’s misdeeds, is starting to lose support for his extreme methods. In the latest incident, CNN reported that O’Keefe, 26, planned to secretly record himself trying to James O’Keefe, conservatives, Acorn, CNN, Sarah Palin, tea partyseduce a female CNN reporter seeking to interview him, Politico reports.

The interview was to be for a documentary about conservative video activists ambushing liberals.

O’Keefe’s aim was to unmask CNN’s “bias against conservatives,” its “racism” and its “low journalistic standards” through the seduction and by inducing the network to report a false story about either “tea party racism” or Sarah Palin, according to a memo written for O’Keefe and his cohorts.

In a statement on Project Veritas’s website, O’Keefe said he “liked the basic absurdity” of the plan laid out in the memo, but was “repulsed by the over-the-top language and symbolism” and “never considered” executing the plan.

Brent Bozell, founder of the Media Research Center, termed the caper “sleazy,” saying it underscores the need for conservative citizen journalists to adopt a code of ethics.
